This was our first time running in this event, but it won't be our last. It is held in in memory of Erick Grove, a 1990 graduate of Carthage High School who died in a work-related accident a year after his graduation. Grove holds the mile record for CHS and was an all-state representative in cross country and track and field. Proceeds go toward scholarships for Carthage High School cross country and track and field athletes and will be announced in the spring. Dina placed first in her age category. With 45 mph winds that day, Ella had to settle for the one mile fun run.
No one said you can't have fun and campaign at the same time! The Hensley for Judge campaign will have a "Running for Judge" team in many area races this year.
Proceeds from this run benefited the Webb City Project Graduation. This was Ella's first 5k, and she came in under 30 minutes!
The Chilly 5K is the Joplin Family YMCA's signature fundraiser. All proceeds provide financial assistance to low-income families and children to participate in the character-building programs offered by the YMCA.
Too cold for pictures!
I was the first to announce my candidacy for Associate Circuit Judge, Division 5.
